Material Master Description

Hi experts,

When i enter the MM01 tcode in the material description feild automatically (new material Text is coming)how this description is automatically coming. Where it maintained.

Pls help

Hi,

While creating initially in MM01, the description filled automatically as (New Material). i am not copying any material.

hi,

Are you extending the exsiting material to new plant though MM01. Then also all fields , except plant specific will be copiped.

check the masterial is exsiting in the system. If it existing system by default takes the old material details only.

check once

Is it a dummy text? or a real description?

if a dummy text, then it might come from a user exit.

if a real description, then you may create a material master with a number that was incompletly deleted from your system.
