Material grp - mandatory field for HERS mateirl type

Hi All,

I am craeting a material master for a HERS material type material.

It has only purchasing and classification view.

There it is asking to maitanin a material which is mandatory. I tried to amke that as optional in OmT3B.( Field to field selection group)

Eventhough i hide it also it is asking to enter the matl grp during matl master craetion.

Is there any other area we are configuring the material grp for HERS material type.

Hi,

You need to configure this in OMS9, before that in OMS2 find your filed reference key for your material type and in OMS9 for that field reference key, make the field as optional.

Hi,

I chcekd the same in OMS2 and OMS9 .The material rp for HERS mat type is maintained as optional entry only.But system asks to enter matl rp during matl master creation for HERS matl type.

hi,

> Material group field is a lock relevent field. so when ever you go the Material master the system will compulsorily ask you you to enter it. You should check the setting in the SPRO settings for the material master under logistics general for field selection ie. for lock relevent fields. You can't directly unlock it. Its only possible to unlock the fields only via authorizations.

But if i create a material for ROH the material grp is not mandatory.

But for HERS only it is amde mandatroy and i wnat to remove that.

hi,

> As per my knowledge, material group field is by default lock relevent field and is always mandatory. The reason is simple, ie. for the account determination. Just recheck again and take the help of Basis consultant..

use the t.code OMS9 .

Find the Field selection group MARA-MATKL ( normally it is in group 2)

Go to field selection.

select the material type 

for ROH  select the field as optional

for HERS  select the field as  Hide
