Hi Experts,
My requirement is whenever i create the maintenance order and put some material in component TAB then the system should automatically check the material availability before leaving the Component TAB screen.

Kavvya
Hi,
Please find the below link which clearly explains the standard SAP System.
In addition to that i would like to add below points for your clarification.
1. The material which is added can be deleted easily again before or after saving the order. If the material is deleted before saving the order the auto mateial availability function for each time will be wasted if the system is done as per your requirement, so that the system performance will be reduced. If multiple material is added, again the system performance will be affected. That is why the SAP has gave the functions like mateiral availability can be checked during order saving and or releasing the order (customizing) as well as manul materal availability check function.
2. Apart from adding material to maintenance order, we can add the components to task lists. later on the task lists are copied to maintenace orders, in this case material availability check is required only at the time of releasing the order or saving the order not at the time of creation of task lists.
Hope this clears the Standard SAP fucntion.

R. Loganathan

Hi Kavya,
Please check SPRO>PM&CS>Processing>Orders>Functions and settings for order type>Availability Check for Material, PRTs, and Capacities
This configuration controls how availability check behaves when material is added.

Hi Kavya,
What you said is absolutely correct whenever you are entering some material in component tab and press enter then the system will automatically update the material status and that is the default procedure. But you ars saying the system is not checking material type means it might be due to configuration setting , chec the confoguration setting with the help of basis guys.you issue may be resolved.
