master-recipe-base-qty.jpegbom-base-qty.jpegHI All,
When I'm creating the Master recipe the base quantity in operation tab is displaying as 1 Kg. But my BOM base quantity is 13,000kg. So should I change the base quantity from 1 kg to 13,000 kg?
Please explain what is the difference between the Base quantity in BOM & Master recipe?
Thanks & Regards
M.Praveen
Request clarification before answering.
Hello,
Base quantity of BOM used to calculate the components quantity calculation with respective your order quantity.
Base quantity of recipe or routing use to calculate the operation requirement with respective your order quantity .
Do see any issue if you have different base quantity in BOM and recipe?

Hello,
Brahmankar
I'm new to SAP PP-PI module I want to get the clarification on the below example:
1) My client requirement is he has given BOM base quantity as 13,000 kg. So for 13,000 base quantity, he has given the component quantities. (BOM BASE QTY AND COMPONENTS QUANTITY ARE CLEAR FOR ME)
2) My problem is with the Master recipe base quantity.
Ex: There is a resource R-101 when I mixed some raw materials in this resource I'm getting 9,000 kg output and R-101 capacity is 10,000 (10 KL)
So my client has given 9,000 kg with Power-10 KWH, Machine Hours-24 HRS, Man Hours-21 HRS
What is the base quantity should I provide in master recipe 9,000 kg or 10,000 kg
Thanks & Regards
M.Praveen
Hello,
As your client has given you the BOM quantity, it should also provide you the recipe base quantity too.
If possible you can the same base quantity for mater recipe as 13000 and the define your operation and activity duration accordingly.
Or you can define it with 9,000 kg to Power-10 KWH, Machine Hours-24 Hours, Man Hours-21 Hours.

Hi, chuah,
It's Completely different and independent
BOM base Qty is a yield Qty after using a list of Components inside
Master recipe base Qty is a yield Qty After using standard values (times)
Example:
Say product A (Finished goods or Semi-Finished goods) has BOM And Master Recipe
Base Qty for BOM 100 KG is
Component B=40 KG
Component C=40 KG
Scrap =-20 KG
Base Qty master recipe of Product A
at first Operation, 100 KG takes 1 Hr machine and 1 Hr labor in standard process
so when you create Process order with Qty 100 KG
you will get a list of Component (Materials) and Operations as you built before.

Muhamed
