We need to:

  • Create new storage types and storage bins
  • Physically move articles to new storage locations
  • During the relocation, we will record article numbers, quantities, base unit of measure, current storage bins, and the new storage bins in an Excel spreadsheet.

Please provide:

  • Applicable apps or tools
  • Documentation or how-to steps

Our requirement: We want to avoid creating a warehouse task for each material individually.

Dear SAP Community,

To manage the creation of new storage types and bins, and the relocation of articles in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2502, follow these steps:

Applicable Apps and Tools

Create Storage Bins

Product Master Data

  1. Manage Product Master Data App: You can use the Manage Product Master Data app (Fiori ID: F1602) to search, display, edit, create, and copy master data for products effectively and quickly. It ensures that the master data displayed is always consistent.

Documentation and How-To Steps

Creating Storage Types and Bins

  1. Create Storage Types:

    • Navigate to the configuration environment and use the search function to open the activity ‘Create Storage Types Using Templates’.
  2. Create Storage Bins:

    • Use the ‘Create Storage Bins’ app to specify the warehouse and assign a storage type.
    • Define the location of the storage bin, such as aisle, stack, and coordinates.
  3. Mass Create Storage Bins:

    • Use the ‘Mass Create Storage Bins’ app to simulate and create storage bins for a predefined structure.
    • This app allows you to handle multiple bins efficiently without creating individual tasks for each material.

Relocating Articles

  • Record article numbers, quantities, base unit of measure, current storage bins, and new storage bins in an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Use the ‘Internal Movements’ functionality to move products to different storage bins without creating individual warehouse tasks for each material.

Guidance for Handling Relocation

  • Internal MovementsWarehouse Management - Internal Movements This feature includes replenishment, rearrangement, ad hoc movements, and posting changes. It allows for efficient management of warehouse space and order fill efficiency.

  • Avoiding Individual Warehouse Tasks: By using internal movements and mass creation tools, you can handle multiple items collectively, reducing the need for individual tasks.

Best regards,

SAP Support.
