Mass Download Line Items in General Ledger

APP: Display Line Items in General Ledger 

we need to download accounting documents / journal entries  on a monthly or annual basis. However, the system does not allow us to do so because there are too many entries. Is there any app where we can download these entries massively in the background?

This is the current limitation in Excel spreadsheets from Microsoft. This is the workaround:

In the APP: Display Line Items in General Ledger filter for posting date as "Last quarter" and click go. Then export the data to Excel. If the same error still does come up then reduce it to one month. If this is still too large then reduce it to 2 weeks. There is my enhancement request (with 23 votes) from 2 years ago showing in "long term consideration" to allow downloads at the Grouped, or summarized level instead of every line.  For example, if you have a million rows and groups to something like Company and GL Account or hundreds of grouped rows, the download option would download hundreds vs. stalling on a million rows.
