we wanted to post depreciation manually, what is the way to post what is the key and method.
Request clarification before answering.
Use Transaction-ABMA & Transaction type -610 or 600 depending on whether new asset or old asset.
Pls note that the relevant asset should have depreciation key (MANU)- system defined key. This asset will be excluded from the automatic monthly depreciation run or in reports on planned depreciation etc..i.e user would have to post manually everymonth for this particular asset. max dep allowed is = current NBV of ths asset.
Any depreciation posted under manual would be reflected under ordinary dep. where as unplanned / write up etc are shown sep. in reports from ordinary depreciation. Unplanned dep ( is supplementary dep to ordinary dep) only allows for max depreciation to be posted = NBV for that asset at the end of the current fiscal year. Only then the depreciation terms are recalculated.
If you want do do a manual once off additional depreciation entry,
you need to change the depreciation key to MANU to
enter Unplanned Depreciation. (get's rid of error messages)
Then change the depreciation key back to the Automatic Key.
This will have the effect of creating the normal planned depreciation
in the depreciation run, + the additional unplanned depreciation
that you have added.
Once the depreciation run is done both will post to FI & standard depreciation for the asset will continue as normal.
Hope this helps.
