Mandatory Organizational Structure

Hello,
we are currently facing an issue with our Organizational Structure configuration in CBC system.

System doesn't allow us to confirm units already inserted because of these other 12 PERSON_NAME units, which aren't required by our client:

Storage Location (IT)
Distribution Channel
Division
Sales Office
Shipping Point (Standard)
Shipping Point (Customer Consignment)
Shipping Point (Return)
Sales Organization (IT)
Plant Assignment on Sales Org and Distribution
channel (Plant Assignment on Sale ... More
Plant and Shipping Point (Plant and Customer
Consignment Shipping Point assignme ... More
Plant and Shipping Point (Plant and Return Shipping
Point assignment) (IT)
Plant and Shipping Point (Plant and Standard
Shipping Point assignment) (IT)

Why are these organizational structures PERSON_NAME and is it possible to avoid them and confirm only the other units we actually need (Company code, plant, purchase organization...)?

Thanks and best regards

Hi,

Once you have selected the country (e.g., IT) in the Define Scope step and confirmed the required configurations, the next step is to set up the Organizational Structure.
The organizational entities you create are determined by the country selection made in the previous step.

It’s important to note that some entities are mandatory, as they serve as the fundamental building blocks for all business processes. Without them, the selected scope items cannot function properly.
The Set Up Organizational Structure app is also closely linked to the scope definition, meaning the selected scope determines which organizational units are required for the underlying processes (see Organizational Structure Management | SAP Help Portal).

You must create all mandatory org units (those marked under “Units to be created”) before confirming them. This step is essential to confirm the milestone and move to the next phase of your configuration.

As outlined in 3165028 - Mandatory organizational units to be created and confirm button in SAP Central Business Co..., these entities must be created to ensure the consistency of your organizational structure.

If certain organizational units are not relevant for your system, you can create them using placeholder names such as “DO NOT USE” for both the name and description.
When the system indicates mandatory organizational units, there is no workaround to skip their creation. If you plan to keep your current scope, it will be necessary to complete this step to maintain consistency and proceed with further activities.

Best Regards,
