Manage Purchase Orders

While trying to open purchase order within ‘Manage Purchase Orders’, a pop-up page is shown saying that a separate session/tab will be used, and then PO is opened in a different tab.

Why does it behave like this? Is it standard behavior?

Yes, this is standard behavior and is explained in the following KBA:

2372209 - Fiori - Manage Purchase Orders opens a separate browser

The system carries out a feature check at header and item level. If the document contains any field that the

APP cannot use, then the PO is considered 'Advanced' and it has to be handled in the webgui rather than the APP.

This is the reason you sometimes get a separate session and sometimes not.
