Greetings experts

When using the app Manage Outbound Deliveries and attempting to pick a delivery, the following error appears *delivery ----------- contains items with batches and cannot be maintained", Now, the situation here is; in VL02N the automatic batch determination is done correctly but, by matters of efficiency in the warehouse, they want to be able to use the Manage outbound delivery app, even though the error says it has a batch contained this is not true, at this point there is not batch yet assigned.

In the image you see there is not batch and still says there is a batch contained, which is false.

Any advice on how to determine a batch automatically when using the Manage Outbound delivery app?

I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks

Hello,

The issue you are experiencing with the "Manage Outbound Deliveries" app where it incorrectly states that a delivery contains a batch, when no batch is assigned, might be related to the app's handling of batch determination or data validation rules.

Here are some steps you might consider to resolve this issue:

1. **Check Configuration for Batch Management**: Make sure that the configuration for batch management is correctly set up in your SAP S/4HANA Cloud system. This includes ensuring that the materials involved are flagged for batch management and that batch determination is active.

2. **Batch Determination Strategy**: Ensure that a batch determination strategy is maintained for the material in question. Go to the batch determination strategies in the system to confirm that the strategy is set up correctly for the warehouse process.

3. **Check for Updates or Notes**: Review if there are any updates or SAP Notes about the "Manage Outbound Deliveries" app (App ID: F0233A) that address this specific issue. This might include bug fixes or patches that correct this behavior.

4. **Verify Data Sources**: Confirm that the data sources or integrations pulling data into the "Manage Outbound Deliveries" app are configured correctly and do not have any conflicts or outdated information that might cause this error.

5. **Testing in an Isolated Environment**: Try replicating the error in a testing environment to ensure that it is not related to a specific configuration or custom development in your live environment.

Here are the steps and considerations for setting up automatic batch determination:

1. **Material Master Data Configuration**:
- Verify that the material for which you want to perform batch determination is correctly configured in the material master. Ensure that the Batch Management indicator is set.

2. **Batch Determination Procedure**:
- Establish a batch determination procedure in your system, which includes all necessary condition tables, access sequences, and strategy types.

3. **Condition Records for Batch Determination**:
- Maintain condition records for batch determination. This includes defining rules and conditions under which the batch determination occurs during outbound delivery processing.

4. **Configuration in the Outbound Process**:
- Configure the outbound delivery processes to incorporate batch determination. This often involves configuring the delivery item category to trigger automatic batch determination.

5. **Automatic Batch Determination Settings**:
- Ensure that the setting for automatic batch determination is enabled in the relevant delivery document type and warehouse management processes. This might require adjustments in the Customizing settings under Logistics Execution.

6. **Use of Batch Determination in the App**:
- When using the "Manage Outbound Deliveries" app, ensure that your process flow includes steps that trigger batch determination based on your configurations. Check for any user-specific settings that might affect batch assignments.
