Hi ,

I would like to know what are the budgeting options for plant maintenance . I am aware that you can have fundcenter based budget control , MCB etc...

I want a simple comparison of all the budgeting options available and key features of each .

Hi narsimha

I have implemented fundcenter based budget control in one client & its Ok. In PM we only check for consumption budget while making goods issue. While creating order we assign fund center to the order & it checks for the consumption budget while doing goods issue. Also we have implemented an enhancement for automatic derivation of fund center from the responsible cost center in the additional data tab of the order. We need to consult a FM consultant to activate fund management . We can also control procurement budget during PR/PO

Hi,

You have some options:

FM (funds management)

Configuration is exhaustive and you will need a FM consultant, you can track , budget, commitment and actual per each fund center (similar to cost center)

Budget per work order

You can allocate budget per each work order, you can track , budget, commitment and actual per each work order

WBS

You can use WBS elements to track , budget, commitment and actual per each WBS and work order assigned to each WBS or project; you will need a PS consultant to help

Hi,

As many ppl have said ..

1 For Budgeting via Internal Order, give budget profile in OIOA for Order type ../Tick open item management tick mark -this means commiment management active for this order type ..

Later create order with this order type .. before releasing Allot budget to this order via KO22 ..

Thus Availability control will check Budget alloted with the Actual Cost & commitments in the order..

Actual Cost ->GI /Confirmations ..

Commitments -> PR / PO generation which later are converted to actual costs ..

2. For PS Budgeting in PM Order , /In OIOA Tick Open item management for the order type /You create Project /WBS -CJ20N -Allot Budget to WBS-CJ30 / release Budget in CJ32 ..

Create order, assign WBS to order in Add Tab

Thus based on settings in OPSV in PS / System will take the Maintenance Order Planned Cost as Planned Cost in WBS or Commitment Cost in WBS .. thus Availability control will check the commiment cost and Actual Cost against the WBS ..

regards

Thanks for the valuable inputs ...I have compared all the budgeting options and my analysis is as follows

Active budget availability checks available in Budgeting by order , by FM , WBS

Active budget availibilty checks not available in CC , IM , MCB

MCB is not integrated in ECC ...All other options are integrated with ECC

Flexibility of budegting object ---Maximum with MCB

Top down /Bottom up budgeting --MCB/IM/WBS
