locked for automatic sourcing

What is the use of this additional status - 'locked for automatic sourcing' in the production version of S4HANA

Will it help in procurement also?

Are these automatic sourcing in production version and Pruchase info record interlinked?

As Caetano said it will not consider for MRP but can be used for Production order creation have tried running MRP with this additional status. 

For me 1st is working.
But not able to create the production order with this status.

Any idea. Why we are having this additional status.

Hello, the automatic sourcing in the info record is not related to the production order.

This must be by design of SAP, if the material version is  not released then you can have MRP run it to create the PR and then PO automatically. SAP Intent may be not to run the MRP can create a procurement proposal for product version that not fully approved to be purchased or ready to be purchased as part of regular procurement process hence it have option to stop automatic sourcing indicator for the version.

Automatic Sourcing allow to assign of info records as a source of supply. I guess you have to activate plant level info record if you planning to use the version field on info records.

I could able to create the production order with the status locked for automatic sourcing in production version by changing the OPL8 configurations

Your production version will not be selected by MRP, but you can still use it in production orders.
