We have created a large quantity of new items in SAP which have not yet been used.   We have now decided that we need to change the item numbers.  Can I use the import from excel feature to amend the item numbers rather than do manually. I have tried this without success.

Could you please share the error message (if you're getting any)?

You can delete the items with the master data cleanup wizard and then reimport the items with the new Item code with DTW.

May be you can give a try to the DTW if there is a possibility to update the Items already added.
