Item Category in SAP Tables

Hi Everyone,

Kindly I need your help on this.

I am dealing with FI accounting tables BKPF & BSEG, and I need to know whether these tables or one of the them contains a field for "Item Category" ?

You can check field names of a table via SE11. There is no field specifically called "Item Category" in BKPF/BSEG. In FB03, what field in FI account document do you want to know?

Actually I have raw data from SAP and I do not have access to the system, I just need to know whether I can differentiate between the invoice lines with the "Item Category" if it really does exist in either table of BKPF or BSEG.

Hi,

• Item category define that item is relevant for Billing or Pricing.
• The item category in the sales document depends on the sales document type and the material.
• and it is not related to any FI Table

You may access SE16N to check the required Fields in your desired Tables by referring to the Tables. Thanks.

You can see the fields for these tables e.g. here:

• BKPF accounting document header fields
• BSEG accounting document segment fields 

As mentioned before, item category is not directly written into these fields, but BSEG e.g. contains the purchasing document number in field EBELN, which has an item category. This item category of the purchasing number can be found in SAP table EKPO.

Both from purchase and sales side you have item category and I don't think, these can be found in any FI tables.
