Dear All

Currently for one of the product we have some storage limitations  due to constrain in Storage space in Warehouse

Sceanrio

Following are  delivery requirements:

                    (1)    Delivery required from vendor need to split into 2 to 3 deliveries per week to control monthly inventory and storage space

                Example

                MRP ran propose X qty in a PR for wk 46

                            Hence the deliveries for wk 46 should be as follows:

         Mon -> deliver X1 qty

         Wed -> deliver X2 qty

         Fri   -> deliver X3 qty

         Total    X   qty

2)      Also deliver quantity should be fixed sizes, Ex the total quantity proposed by MRP X= 1080 , and fixed size =360  then delivery should be split into 3 different ones

Please let me know your thougths

Regards

Shyam

If you get only one PR, then its for the reason that the whole demand is needed on the same day. How would a split into 3 PR help you further if all is needed for exact the same date?

If you plan with weeks, then SAP assumes that anything is due on the last day of the week.

You may need to switch to a different lot size that is not on a weekly basis.

Dear Caetano

Thanks a lot

yes, i checked this and seems it might meet the requirements. In lot sizing procedure i see also the overlapping field. But i am not sure what is meant by the cycle time ..is it the Takt time which we mention in material master?. Please guide.

Also if you have any document with more details on this, that would be helpful

Hello

You may test using a takt time on the material master and a fixed or maximum lot size. The replenishment proposals will be splitted according to the fixed/maximum lot size and will be shifted according to the value defined on the takt time.

Dear Caetano

Thanks again. Its working as you mentioned. Only one concern is that some delivery dates will fall in Saturday or Sunday . So want to avoid this. All delivery dates should fall on working days.Can we use this Takt time along with a Planning Calendar ?

In Planning Calendar  can i define a calendar with all working days and use that along with Takt time . In lot size i will mention Lot-size indicator=K

Will this work? . I tried but seems there is some problem still

Please let me know your views

Hello Shyam

No, the takt time does not work with a planning calendar, however, the dates will be always according to the working days defined on the plant factory calendar.

Thanks Kumar

I can check this . But in my scenario i am talking about single Vendor. So not sure whether QA can fully support.
