Issue with Capacity Category 001 in Scope Item 31L

Description:
During the execution of the test script for scope item 31L, specifically in the Change Work Center (CR02) app, when trying to modify the standard available capacity for Capacity Category 001 (Machine), the system does not allow editing of the expected values.

According to the test script (see attached screenshot), the following pre-set values should be available:

  • Start time: 07:00:00

  • End time: 16:00:00

  • Length of breaks: 01:00:00

  • Capacity Utilization: 100

  • No. Ind. Capacities: 1

However, in the Starter System of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Capacity Category 001 appears locked and these values are not displayed, showing the following error:

“Do not enter formulas or distribution keys”.

This behavior occurs even when strictly following the steps described in the test script (as seen in the reference image).

Question:
Is this a restriction specific to the Starter System of SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, where preconfigured standard capacities cannot be modified, or is there an additional configuration required to enable editing of Capacity Category 001?

Hello @sergio21

Thank you for your question. Please note that in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition Starter System, your observed behaviour is expected.

  • Capacity Category 001 (Machine) and its associated values such as start time, end time, break length, utilization, etc. are delivered as preconfigured reference content and are locked in the starter system. These entries cannot be modified because the Starter System is meant for exploration and demo purposes, not for customizing the underlying standard configuration.
  • The error message you received reflects the restriction in the Starter System.

In your Quality or Productive system, you can configure work center capacities through SSCUI 102402 Define Work Center Capacity or via the Manage Work Center Capacity app. Doing this will allow you to maintain shift intervals, capacity utilization, and individual capacity values as per your business requirement.

To summarize, Starter System restriction’s values are locked and cannot be edited. Quality/Production system configuration is open via SSCUIs and apps. You will be able to maintain and adapt the capacity categories, intervals and standard available capacities.

For more details refer to the following link.

Manage Work Center Capacity

I hope this provides the desired insights. Happy to answer any further questions.

Best regards

Chris
