Issue with Automatic Deduction for Semi-Finished Goods Using Movement Type 531

Hello SAP Experts,

I have a scenario where we are using the same material code (let's call it "1") as both a finished product and a semi-finished product according to its specification.

Here's the situation:

• We want to automatically deduct a quantity of this material for another plant in CO15 using movement type 531.
• In the specification, we assigned a special procurement type "70" to this material. However, we cannot set this in the material master because the material code is also used as a finished product.

Example:
If we confirm 10 pieces:

• 5 pieces should be deducted for the other plant using movement type 531.
• The remaining 5 pieces should be received at the production plant.

Problem:
Currently, SAP is receiving all 10 pieces at the production plant instead of deducting 5 for the other plant.

Question:
How can we configure this process so that SAP automatically deducts the quantity sent to the other plant during goods receipt?

If I understood correctly, your requirement is following way.

You have FG & SFG in the process which are identical just like recursive BOM.

Now your expectation is that during prod order confirmation, you are expecting 5 PC to Prod Plant (currently all qty posting to this plant) and rest of 5 PC to other plant (Planning or supplying plant) using 531 movement type.

You have challenge for applying sp. procurement type -70 to this scenario?

My requirement is not just to post part of the finished goods to another plant but also to ensure that when movement type 531 is used to transfer 5 pieces to another plant, the system deducts those 5 pieces automatically from the total quantity (10 pieces) during goods receipt at the production plant. Currently, the system posts the full quantity (10 pieces) to the production plant stock, ignoring the deduction for the 5 pieces already transferred. Could you advise how to achieve this behavior?"

1. Material Master Configuration

• Verify that the semi-finished goods material is correctly configured in the material master.

• Ensure that the material type is set to "HAWA" (Semi-Finished Goods) or a similar type that allows automatic deduction.

2. Movement Type Configuration

• Check the movement type 101/102 configuration to ensure that it's set up for automatic deduction.

• Verify that the movement type is linked to the correct valuation area and storage location.

3. Storage Location Configuration

• Ensure that the storage location for the semi-finished goods is correctly configured.

• Verify that the storage location is linked to the correct valuation area.

4. Automatic Deduction Configuration

• Check the automatic deduction configuration for the semi-finished goods material.

• Ensure that the automatic deduction is activated for the movement type 101/102.

5. Check Transaction OBYC

Hello!

The problem currently is that SAP is receiving all 10 pieces at the production plant instead of deducting 5 for the other plant. The procurement type "70" works; 5 pieces are written off using the 531 movement type to another factory. However, with the 101 movement type, the stock reflects 10 pieces instead of 5. This means the 5 pieces written off by the 531 movement type are not being deducted.

Could you please advise how to ensure the stock at the production plant reflects only the remaining 5 pieces?
