I am seeking alternative solutions to the commonly discussed approach of using status management to prevent the creation of processing data (e.g., work orders or notifications) at specific functional locations. Our requirement is to disallow the creation of work orders and notifications at the top two nodes within the FLOC hierarchy.
For context, we recently completed a brownfield implementation and are now running on S/4HANA on-premise. During the implementation phase, I came across official SAP documentation that suggested a different method to address our requirement, but unfortunately, I didn’t save the reference and can no longer locate it.
Could anyone help identify whether this alternative approach is available through a business function or Business Add-In (BAdI)? If possible, I would greatly appreciate a reference to the relevant SAP documentation.
I’m currently in a bit of a bind: SAP has responded to my query with several SAP Notes distinguishing between support and consulting services, while my consultant believes that status management is the only available solution and lacks further knowledge of any alternatives.
