is it possible to create a production order for a material without work scheduling view.

Hi Gurus,

I think that it is mendatory to create workschduling view for creation of production order. yet i was able to create a production order for a raw material (so workscheduling is disabled). Procurement was inhouse and valuation class was for finished good.

is there some thing I am missing.

Hello Suraj,,

As i know you are very well aware of the SAP standard process. Without work scheduling view not possible to create the Prod order. For FG and SFG work scheduling view is mendatory because material has inhouse manufactuirng, even It is not possible to convert the planned order to prod order if you not mainatined the prod Scheduling view,

In your case, If  you facing any error when prod order creation or Prod order release in that case you can convert the error message in warning message with help of the ABAPer. or you can use the Tcode : OPJB. but again it is not good practice to convert the Error message to Warning message.

Why you want to create prod order without Work scheduling view? what's your business requirement?

Nice to hear from you. Actually this is not a business requirement but a situation which came before me while looking for some other issue.

as we all were told (and we also told other) that work scheduling view is required to create a PO, but here i came across something else, so was curious as if there is something which can surpass this requirement for workschd view maintainance.

Please also check transaction O04C for message category of CO070.

Check OSS note  2163296  which suggested it was due to side effect of OSS note 1279326 verify the same.
