In transaction OIS2, when I try to add another line for the "ZYYY" serial number profile (already assigned to the "P" equipment category) for a different equipment category (e.g., "M"), I encounter an error (please refer to the screenshot).

Requirements

1. Can one serial number profile be assigned to more than one equipment category? If yes, how?
2. Is it possible to assign both an internal number range and an external number range to a single equipment category (e.g., for the "M" category)? If yes, how?

you need to choose a different ID for the profile. You cannot have two entries with the same ID.

Can one serial number profile be assigned to more than one equipment category?

No this cannot be. Per serial number profile only one equipment category nay be assigned. you can however, under circumstances, change equipment category once it is created.

Is it possible to assign both an internal number range and an external number range to a single equipment category (e.g., for the "M" category)?

Yes. This can be achieved. You need to maintain two intervals (one internal and one external).
