InterCompany Asset Transfer - Question Regarding NET METHOD and Choosing New Asset Option

Hello All,

I am having two issues with Intercompany Asset Transfer - Transaction : ABT1N.

ISSUE I-

I am trying to make transfers between two companies that are legally independent entities (relationship type 01). And as per SAP recommendation I am planning to do this with Net Method.

However, when I am trying to post to the existing asset which no posting made or acquisition made (New Asset) I am getting the error seen in Image 2. " Posting with trans. type 157 not possible". Message No. AA324.

I checked the Trans. Type 157 ( Image 3) and the settings appear fine.

ISSUE II-

When I am choosing the second option ' New Asset' radio button below ( Image 1) I am getting the error seen in the last Image ( Image 4).

I thoroughly checked SCN and SAP Support before posing the question here. Anyone who may have bumped into the below issue, please help.

SAP Recommendation -

SAP recommends that you use the net method only for transfers between two companies that are legally independent entities (relationship type 01).

Where are you getting your "SAP Recommendation" at the bottom of your post?

I was able to get this working by making changes to the posting types in the Transaction Type.

Transferring Assets En Masse with the New Assets feature via LSMW.
