Hello forum,
I have developed an addin with SAP B1 9.0, but one of our customers still uses 8.82. Now I want to install this version in two new VMs (client and server) for testing purpose. The server installation runs smoothly: Windows Server 2012 + MSSQL Server 2012 Express + SAP B1 8.82 PL11 (51045614). Now I want to install the 8.82 client in a Windows 7 VM. Its a freshly installed version of Win7 with all patches from Microsoft and a Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition installation (+ IE11, because the Visual Studio said so). But on the first start, after selecting the company and logging in as manager/manager I get this error: "Internal error (-1101) occurred [Message 131-183]"
I have found some solutions:
SAP B1 client system we got error Internal Erro... | SCN
1. Deinstall Client, delete Temp Folder, reinstall client. But the error stays.
2. Deinstall Client, turn Off User Account Control (UAC), restart windows, reinstall client within the admin account (regsvr32.exe: The "Run as Administrator" property is grey, so I enabled the administrator account in win 7 and logged in as administrator). But the error is still there. The Installation with Shift+Run As Admin doesnt work either.
3. If I install server and client in one Windows Server 2012 VM, I can login as manager and it seems to run correctly (I havent installed no licenses, I got the missing rights error If I try to open a window.)
Can someone give my a hint how to install the 8.82 client in the Win7 machine?
Thanks
Mark

did u turn off the 2012 firewall? If not, try it.

I must correct the error message:
Internal error (-1102) occurred [Message 131-183]
Yes, the Firewall is turned off in both VMs, but the error stays.
If I log in with a wrong password for manager, I get an error message that states the wrong PW.
EDIT1: I have installed the Native Client of SQL Server 2012 and re-installed the SAP Client. Still the same error.
EDIT2: I have installed a new VM with Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 and SAP B1 8.82 Server+Client. So from now one I have two such VMs.
Within a Windows 2012 Server, the SAP Client can connect to the database on the same server, but the SAP Client of one server cannot connect to the database of the other VM. How I connect to the other server: I turn off the local database and local SAP license manager, in the SAP client I press refresh in the "company choose" dialog, SAP asks for the name of the license server, I type the name of the other VM and the companies of the other VM are listed, but after typing manager/manager the -1102 error occurs. -> This means the SAP Client is installed correctly!? Short question: Where in the SAP client is the license server name saved? They say I should look in the SAP\ SAP B1\conf folder, but there are only templates.
I can take the MS SQL Management Studio from one VM and connect to the database of the other VM, so basically the connection is possible.
In booth VMs is no license installed, could this be the problem? Is remote access without license not possible in 8.82? (I want to retrieve the license only if I get the server+client running, because sometimes the hardware key changes and the license becomes invalid.)
I'm trying to upgrade to Patch Level 19, I hope it will solve my problem.
I have found the problem: In the settings of the license Server (Configure Security) in the Database textbox should only be the Computer name entered, not additional the SQL DB Name: Thought SAP proposes Computername\SQLServername, you have to delete the last part. And in the SAP Client in the "Choose Company" dialog make sure to choose the "Computername" connection and not the "Computername\SQLServername" one.
