Inquiry on MT940 Deprecation and Switch to CAMT (ISO 20022)

There is an information from the house bank that SWIFT formats MT940 and MT942 will be discontinued as of October 2025. The bank has advised switching to the CAMT format (ISO 20022) with an update from version 02 to 08.

Will SAP support this transition to CAMT (ISO 20022) after October 2025?

SAP Business ByDesign already supports ISO 20022 for bank statements.

Format version ISO 20022 for bank statements has been updated based on camt.053.001.08. Depending on your bank agreements you can also use the lower versions of camt.053.001.02 or camt.053.001.04.

With release 2305, we provided the last update and changed to the current message definition camt.053.001.08, see Germany - Update of ISO Payment Format Versions.
