Inquiry About Time Tracking for Inspections in SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud

Hello SAP Community,

I am currently exploring options for tracking time spent on inspections within SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, specifically related to Quality Management (QM) processes. My goal is to understand the capabilities of the system in terms of collecting and recording labor time for various inspection activities, such as incoming inspections and final control after goods receipt.

Could you please clarify the following:

• Is there a standard way to capture time for inspections in the S/4HANA Public Cloud?
• For example, is there a built-in app or functionality for recording time spent on quality inspections directly within the system?
• Can time tracking for inspections be linked to QM processes or be part of the inspection lot in some way?
• Are there any recommended best practices or configurations for implementing time tracking for inspections in the cloud environment?

If anyone has experience with similar functionalities or can provide insights into how to configure or use time tracking features, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Hello AtanasMilev.  In the SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, quality management features can be used to manage inspection processes, You can perform quality inspection activities in manufacturing, in procurement, in stock handling processes, and in sales. The request to perform a quality inspection is represented by an inspection lot. An inspection lot can be created manually, or creation can be triggered automatically during the different logistical processes. 

1. You can create the BTP based built-in functionality  for capturing the duration or time spent on quality inspections . You can learn more with step by step documentation on BTP App creation. This will help you Integrate with time-tracking solutions by developing extensions using SAP Business Technology Platform to capture and analyze time data linked to quality inspections.   You can also create an BTP Application integrated with  SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud, set up your development project and perform basic database modeling using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) Core Data Services. 2. Record Inspection Results : You can record results for characteristics for one or more inspection lots effectively. For example, you can choose multiple inspection lots at one time and record the results centrally
   While recording inspection results, inspectors can also record the time taken for each inspection operation within the app.
3. You can leverage Custom Fields App and Custom Logic  Fiori Application that can be used to have the custom fields and logic  in SAP S/4HANA Cloud to add specific fields for time recording to the inspection processes.
