Hi,
A client that wants to convert from ECC to S/4HANA, what impacts does this have on the SAP WM module?
This in a Brownfiled conversion.
I think SAP WM will be out of support soon, but at this point we will ignore that fact. And igonre EWM please.
Are there tables that change?
Are there transactions that will be obsolete?
Best Regards,
Daniel

Hello @daniel_cunha1
Technically, there is zero impact on WM. WM stays as it is in S/4HANA, since SAP wants to phase it out and they have not delivered any simplifications or enhancements in this area. So WM is going to work after migration to S/4HANA as it works in S/4 as it works right now in ECC.
However, WM is within the compatibility scope in S/4HANA. Thus, the use rights to WM are going to expire until the end of 2025. Again that is a legal restriction, not a technical one.
Past 2025 you can still use a subset of WM in S/4HANA, called "stock room management". The following functionalities are not part of the stock room management:
Of course those functionalities are not going to disappear past 2025, but the usage rights will expire. That is legalese again.
See the note 2881166 - FAQ : Stock Room Management for details.

Hi @Dominik Tyczynski,
Thank you for your answer, which was very interesting.
I run the note 2882809 - Scope Compliance Check for Stock Room Management and got the following result:
Does this mean that with the current configuration, I will not be able to use Stock Room Management and will have to implement EWM?
Best Regards,

Yellow icon means that there is configuration of a component out of the scope. Red icon means that there is transactional data of a component out of the scope.
You have a yellow icon for wave management. It means your warehouses are customized for wave management, which is out of the stock room management scope. Most probably the configuration is an artefact of the warehouses setup when they had been copied from the SAP standard warehouse 001.
The STOCKROOM_COMPLIANCE_CHECK report check for wave management configuration with the is_customizings_wave_mgnt_used method:
METHOD is_customizings_wave_mgnt_used.
DATA: lv_lgnum TYPE lgnum.
SELECT lgnum FROM t340d INTO lv_lgnum UP TO 1 ROWS WHERE lgnum = iv_warehouse_number AND nukrf <> ''.ENDSELECT.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
rv_status = 'X'.
ENDIF.
ENDMETHOD.I think you can leave the settings as they are without a risk of licensing issues. However if you want to be 100% sure that your setup is stock room management compliant go to OMLW configuration and remove group/wave number ranges from all warehouses:

Hi @Dominik Tylcznski, Thank you very much, With this suggestion everything has now gone "green" in the "STOCKROOM_COMPLIANCE_CHECK" report. Now I have to check if it is possible to use "Room Management" on this client or if they really need EWM.
