How transfer shutdown periods from the old one to the new one?

Dear all,

An asset has been shutdown for 5 months.

As its Depreciation Key calculates based on remaning useful life this shutdown period moves depreciations 5 months ahead.

When I transfer this asset to another one with the same Depreciation Key, the last depreciation period moves 5 months back, just because this new assed doesn't take over the previous shutdown period.

Is there a way to solve it by configuration?

I realized that I can solve this adding the shutdown period on Usefull Life in the new asset, but it has to be manually. May it be automaticly? I've been looking for SAP Notes, but there is nothing elaborating this subject. We also open a ticket on SAP, but we are still waiting.

Thank you very much.

Try if the following is working:

Financial Accounting / Asset Accounting / Transactions / Intercompany Asset Transfers / Automatic Intercompany Asset Transfers / Define Transfer Variants /

Specify Transfer of Fields (for New Asset in Target CoCd)

From your variant Field transfer of field groups for Logical fld grp 3 Time-dependent data

select for copy 27 fields and 23 Shutdown

Dear Paul, your tip sounds quite useful, however I tryed and SAP still doesn't transfer shutdown period.

Afer transfering, my Depreciation Area with the Remaining-Useful-Life-Depreciation-Key are not able to consider the shutdown period ocurred in the old asset.

I didn't mention, but I am in 4.6C R/3.

Another important information: I'm processing a INTRA-company transfer. It's not INTERCOMPANY. I'm just changing Asset Classes.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you all again.

Thank you.
