Hello all,

I have read many blogs regarding the question I raised, but not getting the entire end to end process of MPS capacity planning and MRP.

Need to understand how we can use above 3 components as a parallel option for PP/DS

Requirement is to do planning for multiple plants considering the capacities of the plant and allocating the requirement as per the capacity

Steps should be MPS Run -> Capacity Requirement planning -> MRP Run

I hope somebody's have gone through this requirement

 Waiting for answer..

Hello

You should define an MPS MRP Type (like M0) for the most important finished products and products that will use bottleneck work centers, and MRP type (like PD or any consumption based) for the rest of your materials.

Then you schedule your MPS background job to be executed first, followed by the capacity leveling job (transaction CM40). After the capacity is leveled, you can finally run the MRP background job.

This way you will ensure that there is no capacity overload in your work center, and that the MRP materials will be planned with the adjusted dates.

Thank you caetano for your quick reply to my question. What you have explained I clearly understood but one more question I have in this topic is can we follow the steps you have mentioned for multiple plants in single run.

What I want to understand is how to plan one single finished material in multiple plants using the steps you mentioned Considering the capacity.

Regards,

Ajay
