How to upload product picture through FIORI app "Manage Product master data" DMS?

Hey Community,

I am currently working on uploading product pictures (.JPG & .PNG) through DMS (Document management system) in the FIORI app "Manage Product master data". However I am not sure what kind of customizing I need to set up in order for me to be able to upload these documents.

At a particular system at a client I am not able to upload or view documents I have uploaded in DMS. I cannot set up the right customization I need. More over I also try to figure out how to use these pictures as tumbnails for the products.

Any kind of advice or help is much appreciated.

Hi Max,

first of all the functionality of the attachment service must be active and running as this allows users to upload/download files.

For the thumbnail usage the customizing at

Logistics - General
> Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
> PLM Web User Interface
> Document in PLM Web UI
> Define Search Sequence for Viewable File

is important then. The documentation of this customizing node explains:

Use

In this Customizing activity, you define the search sequence for choosing files from SAP objects to be displayed as a thumbnail or in the Viewer. For example, bill of material (BOM), material, and document.

You can link a file from an SAP object to documents and display them as either thumbnails, or in the Viewer.

Activities

1. In the

SAP Objects field, enter the SAP object that you want to display as thumbnails or in the Viewer.

2. In the

Viewing Application field, choose whether the file is displayed as thumbnail or in the Viewer.

3. In the

Number field, enter a sequence number that the system uses when searching for file

For materials the entries could look like:

MARA Thumbnail 0 DRW JPG

Hi Christoph,

I followed the steps you described in your comment, however i couldn't display the images I have uploaded through DMS in Manage Product master Fiori app as thumbnails. Is there a note that give more details about this subject ?
