How to update equipments using the Migration Cockpit app?

Dear SAP Support,

Is it possible to update equipments using the Migration Cockpit? The Migration Object "PM - Equipment" allows us to create equipments in our system, but we'd like to know if there's a way of updating the existing ones using the Migrate Your Data app.

If the update isn't possible, could you explain us why?

Dear experts,

While it's possible to create equipments in the system using the Migration Object "PM - Equipment", the Migration Cockpit doesn't support bulk updates to the existing data. The KBA below has relevant information regarding this:

• 2650201 - Migration Cockpit: How to create/update data records

As it's mentioned by the KBA's Resolution section:

• (...)The Migration Cockpit is build to initially migrate data. It is not a mass maintenance tool and not built to be used as an interface to permanently upload data into the system.
• (...)To update/change an existing record you have to check if there is a mass maintenance/processing app available for this object. This is the current behavior.

As such, the standard functionality of the Migration Cockpit is to migrate the initial data required in the system, and thus, use the corresponding Fiori applications and/or R/3 transactions to update and enhance the existing data in the system!

I hope this explains why the app won't allow updates to be made in the existing equipments in your system!
