How to Transfer Physical Sample Information from 05 to 09 Inspection Type in SAP QM?

Hello SAP QM Experts,

We currently use inspection type 05 (goods receipt for production order) and inspection type 09 (recurring inspection). When we create a physical sample during the 05 inspection, we need certain details (e.g., storage location and test tube) to be transferred to subsequent inspections under inspection type 09.

Our main requirements are:

A new physical sample should be created for the 09 inspection, but it should inherit information from the 05 inspection.
The storage location and other relevant details (e.g., test tube) should be automatically available in the new inspection lot for 09.
Ideally, we would like this to be handled through standard SAP functionality without extensive custom development.
What would be the best way to achieve this? Is there a standard way to link physical samples across different inspection types, or would we need user exits or enhancements?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hi ,

MM01/MM02

Activate inspection type 09 at the time of material creation. AND enter the number of days in the field "Inspection interval" in QM view.

This field indicates at what frequency in days you need to trigger the recurring inspection lot.

QA05

Define a variant for recurring inspection lot generation. Refer the below pasted link for the same.

[Related Thread|;

It will trigger the inspection lots according to the date of next inspection date in he Batch.

QP01

You need to keep a inspection plan ready to record results for this lot.

QA32

Record Results for the inspection lot.

Perform UD for the lot.

Hello @Saquib. Thank you for your response. However, my question was specifically about transferring data from a physical sample created with inspection type 05. In this case, we need to populate the storage location and the type of test tube. This way, users performing a repeat inspection with type 09 can quickly find the sample’s location and identify the test tube it is stored in.
