How to select the grouping for contact person business partner.

Hello SAP S/4HANA Cloud Customer Community, 

This query was raised with me earlier today - In the Manage Business Partner Master Data app, if a contact person is created directly within an existing organization, the contact person's grouping / number range is incorrect since the correct group for the contact person cannot be specified.

I will add the answer here in our community as well in case our community users have similar queries related to how to select the grouping for contact person business partner.

There is no mass update tool to create Contact Persons.

Contact person is technically also created as a BP with role ""Contact Person"" and you can add the contact person in relationships for another BP.

Contact person can serve different purposes as you mentioned what's the best way will depend on the use case in my view.
