how to post to accounting in current period for previous payroll result unposted

dear Gurus,

i have a reference that SAP can do posting to accounting in current period for previous payroll period (unposted) automatically. is it right??

it happenned that one admin payroll forgot to do posting to accounting of previous payroll for one payroll area.

for other payroll area, all posting to accounting for previous payroll has been done..

and period FICO for previous period has been closed. It can not be re-open - it is the management decision.

I have done the testing, now in the current posting to accounting, the previous period payroll unposted not included in current posting

Is it related with customizing to do posting of previous payroll result unposted?

We also want to avoid manual journal for the previous payroll result unposted. Is it possible for SAP - for certain payroll area - to to posting to accounting for current period payroll and previous period payroll in the same time?

Need your guidance..

Hi Dhenny

If posting for previous month is forgotten and FI has closed the GL for that month then no way it can be posted again for the same month.Next month if posting is done for past month then system will allow for posting for a particular Payroll Area.However before that you need to ask FI consultants to open the access for GL acct for that particular month and then only it can be posted live.

Or else It is not possible to post the result for that month.Means only simulation run can be made.

Hi,

Yes...

But Do run in simulation mode for past month, so that the results can be verified with the manual journal entries.

Note(For Knowledge): Remember past month posting in present month is not related to this month posting.It will not alter the things in HR but it will alter the FI part if run with permission of FI part if FI is Inhouse.

Ok noted that the point of your info is we really need FICO acounting to open the previous period if we want to post previous payroll in previous accounting period..

How about if we want to post payroll previous period (unposted) in this current accounting period that is still open - automatically. Is there a way??
