Hello Cloud experts,
I would like to ask your help regarding inheriting value of field (BSEG-PAYT_RSN) while creating account payable residual items.
We have met an issue when creating a residual item in the payment clearing app (F1367), the "Payment Reason" that was set in the original AP cleared item is not inherited to the newly created AP residual items. We have tried adjusting configuration settings and using substitution method, but were unable to resolve the issue. What solutions are available for this problem in Public Cloud?
Thank you for your support & Kindly Regards,
Chen

Hello,
Thank you very much for your question. I'm very sorry for the delay.
In this case, I asked an internal chatbot for support. Here's the response:
In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, when creating a residual item in the payment clearing app (F1367), the ‘Payment Reason’ field (BSEG-PAYT_RSN) from the original accounts payable (AP) cleared item is not automatically inherited to the newly created AP residual items. This behavior is due to the standard system design, and currently, there is no direct configuration or substitution method available in the cloud environment to change this behavior. For more information, see 2784407 - How to make residual clearing in ‘Post Incoming Payments’ | SAP Knowledge Base Article.
To address this issue, you may consider the following options:
Manual Entry: After creating the residual item, manually enter the ‘Payment Reason’ in the new item if the system allows editing.
Custom Development: If manual entry is not feasible, you might need to explore custom development options.
Feedback to SAP: If this functionality is critical, consider providing feedback to SAP through the Customer Influence Portal.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Henrike
