Dear SAP Community,
I have studied several blogs stating that BMR (Batch Manufacturing Record) can be managed through SAP PI Sheet. However, I came across information on the SAP Help Portal mentioning that PI sheets are not supported on Fiori.
Our client requires BMR to be managed within SAP PP. Can anyone suggest the best approach to handle BMR in SAP PP without using PI sheets on Fiori? Any guidance or alternative solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your support!

Thank you for reaching out to the SAP Community. Managing Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) in SAP PP without using PI Sheets on Fiori is indeed a challenge, but there are alternative approaches you can consider. Below are some suggestions:
1. Use SAP PP-PI (Process Industry) Functionality
- SAP PP-PI is designed for process industries and provides robust functionality for managing batch manufacturing records. You can leverage master recipes, process orders, and batch management to handle BMRs effectively.
- Master recipes and process orders can capture all the necessary steps, materials, and instructions required for batch production. This can serve as a digital BMR.
2. Custom Fiori Apps
- If your client prefers a Fiori-based solution, you can develop custom Fiori apps to manage BMRs. These apps can integrate with SAP PP to capture and display batch-related data, instructions, and production steps.
- The app can pull data from process orders, master recipes, and batch records, providing a user-friendly interface for operators and supervisors.
3. SAP DMS (Document Management System)
- SAP DMS can be used to manage BMRs as documents. You can create and store BMRs as PDFs or other document formats and link them to process orders or batches.
- This approach allows you to maintain a digital record of BMRs without relying on PI Sheets.
4. SAP MII (Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence)
- SAP MII can be used to create custom interfaces for managing BMRs. It can integrate with SAP PP and other systems to provide real-time data and instructions for batch production.
- MII can also be used to develop web-based interfaces for operators to access BMRs.
5. Enhanced Process Order Cockpit
- You can enhance the standard Process Order Cockpit in SAP PP to include additional fields or tabs for BMR-related information. This can be achieved through custom developments or user exits.
I hope these suggestions help you find the right approach for managing BMRs in SAP PP. If you need further clarification or assistance, feel free to ask!
Best regards,
ademt.
