How to get descriptions of a custom field record via CDS or OData

Dear Community

We are developing a Side-By-Side extension in a Fiori BTP Application. Using OData API_PRODUCT_SRV, I can read only the key-value of the custom field, but not the description.

I could not find any hint how to expose the description in the extensibility options!

Any suggestion how this could be solved?

It seems really a gap in the extensibility environment!
I've created a new customer influence request, I hope this will be solved soon.
