how to exclude some assets from the depreciation run

for some reason, depreciation shall not be posted to one or a few assets ans the user wants to exclude them in the depreciation run AFAB.

Locking them in AS05 does not prevent AFAB posting them.

As described in the long text of error AA734 and KBA ##3506868 Error AA734 when perform depreciation posting run via T-code:AFAB,

it is technically not possible to run AFAB but for a whole company code.

As a workaround, you may offset depreciation in the period in question by temporarily setting depreciation key to 0000 as a time-dependent depreciation parameter or shutdown it temporarily (see KBA ##2444093 - How to "shutdown" an asset?).

After running AFAB, you may change the parameter changes back and AFAB can be run to the asset again. Please remember this only works for the last period posted and not for two ore more periods beforehand. In this case, depreciation gets posted as cumulated.
