How to enter divsion wise incoming payment

Dear Gurus,

My managment's requirement is to see collection division wise and product wise . while we enter payment at company code level through F-28

please advice the procedure to meet the requirement.

one discussed solution was to update Sale order field in each line item of payment . i made sale order field as required entry in OB41 against posting key 15 and this field is optional in Field status group

but as i go to enter incoming payment by crediting customer through posting key 15. this field is not dispalying in customer line item screen and system posts incoming payment without asking for sales order. can you please do infrom to change screen layout for t code F-28(so that sale order field can be appeared)

i need your valuable input at earliest

i am really obliged to you for cooperation. i can get division wise collection as advised by you. thank you very much for this

kindly advice further that if i want to granulate my incoming payment to my product level which are represented by line item in SD sales order and billing document

please advice how can i enter incoming payment with refernce to sale order line item

Dear Milind,

thank you once again,

you have informed me SPRO path to assign division (credit control area) to company code. can you please do inform front end field to enter credit control area.

let me explain you that we enter incoming payment without post with refernce i..e our end user just enter an accounting entry for incoming collection i.e. debit incoming bank and credit customer

now i am not finding credit control area field to enter desired credit control area to get division wise collection report

please advice at earliest

Dear Latif,

When you receives payment from customer, in customer line item click on additional data and select the respective credit control area. Be sure you have made all the credit control config and assigned more than one credit control area to customer.

thank you for the reply, as you told that manual entry has to be entered against credit control area in FI, can you do inform how to activate this field becuse at present this fiels is not appearing against t code F-28 and posting key 15

Hi,

Sorry for delay in reply as your message has gone down in list.

Find the configuration path below-

Financial Accounting (New) > Financial Accounting Global Settings (New) > Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable > Credit Management > Credit Control Account > Assign Permitted Credit Control Areas to Company Code

Assign maultiple credit control area to a single company code here.

thank you once again for quick reply

i made sale order field in additional account assignment tab in OBC4 as optional entry and made it as required entry against posting key 15

but still field is not appearing in screen layout rule for document entry and systems allows to post the document without asking for mandatroy field

thank you very much for quick response. at present we have company code as credit control area. please do inform that can i change my credit control area now that is from company code level to divisional level and how it will effect on my incoming collection

means where would i find credit control field to enter incoming payment

please note that we are using profit center accounting through co module

hi,

use the tcode OBC4

select the Field status variant and dboule clikc on the field status on the left of the screen

look for the FSG assigned to the customer G/L account

double click on it

select Acct Assignemnet and inside it activate the fields according to your requirement

Hi,

In FI settings of credit control it is possible to assign multiple credit control area. And this can be attached to different sales area, sales offices etc. When you are posting a doc in sd the credit control area will be derived from the above combination. In case of FI has to be entered manually.

The only area of concern is the conversion of current open item. In this case you have to do dr & cr to same custometr with different credit control so it will give u correct report for division but it will spoil your current posted document numbers relationship with sd.

The best way out is instead of making these entries let the old data as it is in one credit control area and devide the new data as per the credit control areas based on configuration chages.

Hi,

Check whether it is possible for you to maintain each division as credit control area. Or you can also check whether you can maintain each division as profit center.
