Hi Experts,
I am new in S4hana cloud and came to a scenario where some of the steps are throwing error in workflow.
I have gone through logic and it seems fine. For further analysis need to analyze view data but since there is no filter option or no export options are available its getting difficult to analyze.
Could you please suggest what can we do??
Thanks & Regards

Hi ruchi691 : In order to analyse data from your SAP S/4HANA Cloud system there are multiple ways:
1) Use the app - View Browser & Query Browser to analyse data structure, metadata and preview data as required for analytics views. (https://fioriappslibrary.hana.ondemand.com/sap/fix/externalViewer/#/detail/Apps('F2170')/S28)
2) Using the app Custom CDS view - You can create a custom CDS view on top of the released view which you are trying to analyse by just using it as a primary data source. Under the elements sections you can choose all the fields >> check >> preview them as required. You can also play with the filter as needed.
3) Using the released APIs to extract information in excel - This is another method to use the SAP S/4HANA Cloud APIs to extract data from the system into excel directly. An example here is https://blogs.sap.com/2018/08/17/s4hana-cloud-integration-microsoft-excel/
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Saumi

Hi Ruchi,
To your question, unfortunately the custom CDS view does not have the capability to Extract to a file nor can we apply filter at the preview level, this is intended because custom CDS view is designed to give a raw extract from the DB table. The two options you have is either set the scenario to OData and expose as an API and you could extract into an excel as Saumitra rightly pointed or second option will be to set the cds view to scenario Analytical cube/Dimension and call the view in Custom Analytical Queries app and there by you'll have all the capabilities to slice and dice your data and furthermore it also gives you option to extract it into an excel as well. The second option is more simpler and easier to execute depending on your use case.
Here is a reference to second options:

APP name - for View analysis is "custom CDS View" and for standard view - "Custom CDS View deprecated"
