How to download configurations from my CBC project

Is it possible to download my configuration from SAP Central Business Configuration project?

If yes, how to use the feature?

Hello,

There is a possibility to download a zip file containing information on configuration data and selected scope of your project.

This function is highly efficient in case there is a requirement for example to copy current configuration and scope into a new project.

There are certain prerequisites to using this function, please see below steps:

       1. Make sure you have necessary role assigned

In order to Download Template Configuration, you need to have the role "Content Processor" assigned to your user.

The business role Content Processor (SAP_CBC_CONTENT_PROCESSOR) was delivered with 2402 version in the standard software update.

If the system was provisioned in a previous release the role will not be available by default in your IAS system.

       2. Your CBC project must be in the correct phase

Downloading Template Configuration is only possible in Product-Specific Configuration phase.

In case your project is still in Scope and Organizational Structure phase, you need to complete all activities and move your project to the next phase.

What data will be downloaded?

Summary file:

• A list of the configuration adaptations that you have maintained.
• A list of the selected scope.

Individual files for each configuration activity with the settings you have made.

In case you are using a 2-System Landscape the downloaded file contains the settings made in the quality system.

Downloading Procedure step by step:

1. As a first step to download the configuration data of your project, go to the Project Details section and choose Prepare Download of My Configuration.
   This prepares the download. You need to wait until the button changes to Download My Configuration.
2. Choose Download My Configuration.
3. Enter a name for your file and choose SaveDownloads folder.
4. Once the zip file download is complete, Download My Configuration changes back to Prepare Download of My Configuration and you can perform the action again.

The download will be logged in the Change Logs section

(Please note that if you use the Apple Safari browser, refresh the browser manually after the download of the zip file has been done to display Prepare Download of My Configuration again.)

Summary:

Downloading Template Configuration feature is used to:

• Extract selected scope from your project
• Extract the configurations maintained in your project
• Extract any adaptations executed in the S/4HANA Cloud target system via SSCUI's

Note: This data can only be downloaded in excel format.
