How to create Substitution for Profit Center in Journal Entry Item

Dear SAP.

We like to write the substitution for profit center. But in the app "Manage substitution & Validation rules", Business context - Journal entry item, Profit center is not available as "substitution target field".

Please share the SAP note or the process to extend the field.

Hi,

There are a few options for you to create Substitution for Profit Center in Journal Entry currently:

• If the substitution logic is simple, you can create a substitution rule in Manage Substitution & Validation Rules under Business Context - Market Segment. Please refer to SAP Help Page Substitution/Validation for Market Segments for general information on Market Segments, as well as Rules for Substitution for the list of available fields.
• If the substitution logic is more complex, you can create a BAdI Implementation in Custom Logic app for BAdI FINS_CODING_BLOCK or FIN_ACDOC_ITEM_SUBSTITUTION, depend on the business transaction you would like to substitute Profit Center in. The sample code of each BAdI (Use case 02 for FINS_CODING_BLOCK and Use case 06 for FIN_ACDOC_ITEM_SUBSTITUTION) provide some example on how to do substitution on Profit center.
