How to configure Payment to Both Carrier and Forwarding Agent in the Same Freight Order?

We have following requirement in the business but not able to find any configurations for the same:

Client has requirement where they want to pay Carrier for transport and one agent, which we are considering as a forwarding agent, for clearing and other charges in the same freight order. We were thinking of using service order for this case. But in public cloud we couldn't see any tab for service order like we see in on premise. There are no config as well for this.

Could you help us with this requirement?

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the functionality to handle service orders as seen in the on-premise version is not directly available. However, you can manage transportation services and related charges using the Transportation Management module.

For your requirement to pay both the carrier and a forwarding agent for clearing and other charges within the same freight order, you can utilize the concept of charge types in Transportation Management. Charge types can represent both independent services like base freight and dependent services like fuel surcharges or discounts.

Steps to Manage Charges:

1. Define Charge Types: You can define charge types for different services such as base freight, loading charges, and additional services like clearing charges.

2. Use Service Products: In SAP S/4HANA Cloud, transportation services can be modeled as service products. How to create Transportation Management based service products for a charge This allows you to represent logistical information and determine accounts for posting costs.

3. Freight Order Configuration: Within a freight order, you can assign these charge types to represent the services procured from carriers and forwarding agents.

4. Cost Distribution: Ensure that cost distribution is performed in the freight order to allocate costs accurately across different services.

5. Billing and Settlement: Use the Freight Cost Allocation Document How to Bill Freight Costs to Customer in S4/HANA Cloud to manage the billing and settlement of these charges.

By configuring charge types and using service products, I imagine that could help on your currently requirement.

However, as there is no functionality available in the S/4HANA Public Cloud exactly as on prem system. To address this, I recommend submitting a feature request to SAP using the guide `##2963059 - How to Submit Feature Requests for SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Product`. By creating an Influence request, your suggestion will gain visibility among other customers, potentially accelerating the implementation of this functionality in future product releases.
