Hi,
My client have ask to configure 10 leave types out of which 4 type of leave can be consumed as a half day and remaining leave type should be consumed as full day. If this is the scenario do i need to configure all time measurement unit in the absence related table as hours rather than calendar days or there is any other way to do it.
If i'm going to do as hours. Is it going to be more complex to configure, test and managing it compare to calendar day
Which field from the following tables should i choose to configure half day leaves scenario.
1. V_T554S - Absence Type
Option are Blank - Calendar Days
K - Calendar Days
A - Attendance and Absence days
R - Payroll days
From the above entry what should i chose if it is hours.
2. V_T556A - Absence Quota Type
Time Measurement unit -
Options are 1. Hours 2. Days
3. V_T559E - Base Entitlement
Constant - Hours
4. V_556R_B - Deduction rule for absence quota type
Unit of relevant absence quota type
option are 1. Hours 2. Days

hi,
what saureb bannerjii has said is right.follow the same, regarding
V_T556A - Absence Quota Type you need to decide how your client want to be generated the quota whether it is to be in hours or days.

Hi,
Customer wants to generate absence such as Vacation leave 9 days for a year in the beginning of the year but they saying they want to apply half day leave and also one whole calendar day leave depend upon situation. Hence my doubt arise whether i should generate VL quota as hours or calendar days. Note we are implementing positive time management (TMOO). Therefore i was asking before in the previous discussion about the tables where we need to specify hours or calendar days.
Ben
hi,
In Absence Type- V_T554S
Minimum duration should be -0000
take blank i.e.calendar days
In Counting Rules- T556C
Condition for Absence/Attendance it should be Tick on <1 Day
as per your client requirement you have to take measurement unit as days in V_T556A.because your client wants one whole calendar day absence. when you book absence for half day you need to book absence in hours in infotype 2001.
regarding V_T559E it considers time measurement unit of v_t556a so here you just need to mention 9 in entitlement constant field by default it will be displayed in days.
regarding V_556R_B select days
Hi Saureb Bannerjii, mohammed jakeer and sap techie,
As suggested by all let me try by creating the time measurement unit in the table as calendar days with required settings like min 000 and apply leave in IT2001 for 4 hours instead of one calendar day.
If it work then it will be really helpful for me.
Ben
Hi Ben ,
whether the absence is paid or unpaid , you have completed backend configuration steps..
While booking the absence you have to entered half day in IT2001.
Ex : employee wsr is 8 hrs per day and you have to book only 4 hours in It2001.
Thanks
Siva

Hi Ben,
If you have Leave Quotas applicable here , then you have to make all the necessary setting ...i believe you already know.
Configure the leaves & Quotas,Rules for Generating Absence Quotas, The deduction Rules. Check the QUOMO.
For Half Day leave - the unit should be in hrs as per my understanding, correction highly appriciated.
For Full day Leave it should be in Days in Absence Quota Type-correction highly appreciated.
Now in the case of non paid absence you may face problem in saving 4 or 4.5 hrs in 2001 as it accepts the record but does not make any impact in Payroll Run.
