I need to understand how SAP calculates Key Figure "Number of actual machine breakdowns (MCI7; MCJC; MCJB)" .
I understand this key figure considers "Time Overlaps" between breakdowns & is being used for calculation of "MTBR"
The other key figure that records exact nos of breakdowns is "Number of machine breakdowns reported (MCI4)"
Please share your thought on following queries:
BD2 : MF Start 09.30 Hrs / MF End 10.30 Hrs
Number of machine breakdowns reported = 2
Number of actual machine breakdowns (or effective breakdowns) = ?
Breakdown duration: ?
BD2 : MF Start 11.00 Hrs / MF End 14.00 Hrs
Number of machine breakdowns reported = 2
Number of actual machine breakdowns (or effective breakdowns)= ?
Breakdown duration: ?
BD2 : MF Start 12.30 Hrs / MF End 15.30 Hrs
Number of machine breakdowns reported = 2
Number of actual machine breakdowns (or effective breakdowns) = ?
Breakdown duration: ?
BD2 : MF Start 12.00 Hrs / MF End 15.00 Hrs
Number of machine breakdowns reported = 2
Number of actual machine breakdowns (or effective breakdowns)= ?
Breakdown duration: ?
Please also let me know if any direct transaction is available for "MTBF"

Hello Lokesh,
Looking at above examples, it seems you are searching for overlapping scenarios.
Please note that if there are overlaps, system will consider effective breakdown as one. Also, in such cases breakdown duration will be earliest malfunction start to latest malfunction finish. Hope you will calculate the duration for above 4 scenarios.
Thanks,
Prashant

Hi Lokesh,
MCJB is for MTTR / MTBF (MTBR)------ Equipment,
MCJC is for MTTR / MTBF (MTBR)------ Functional locations.

Hello Lokesh
Probability for experts do the exercises given by you and reply would be less, due to obvious reasons. Instead you can ask for the concepts and you yourself calculate facts. Following are useful links to know about all the doubts you have.
