Hi,
With the DTW it is best to to fill in values only if you need to update them. Otherwise, just leave the column empty. SAP recommends to always leave all columns, even when they are empty, but in my experience it is even easier to just exclude empty columns entirely.
When you only want to update component quantities, you do not even need the header file.
In the rows file, it is enough to fill in the ParentKey, LineNum and Quantity columns. Unless you want to change the ItemCode or Warehouse.
When you save the file, it is best to save as Text (Tab-delimited). This format will give you the least problems with content.
