How does Optimizer perform the scheduling in SAP TM for freight document?

Hello All Members,

I have a question on the functionality of Scheduling of freight document through Optimizer planning.

I know the Planned Arrival and Planned Departure date is determined through scheduling (Forward and Backward). However, how Optimizer determined that I need to perform forward or backward scheduling?

Could you please help me understand the logic?

Hello @Mohit07,

I guess you mean the behavior of VSR scheduling.

The VSR optimizer does not have one scheduling direction, it does it cost based. It uses its optimization approaches to get a solution that adheres to all hard constraints with compact freight orders and lowest possible costs.
