How do I release a material that is in QI without an Inspection lot

Someone selected 'Post to stock' in the material master without identifying the inspection type. When a material was transported with a 101 movement, it went into Quality. Since there is not an inspection lot associated, I get an error "Change the inspection stock of material xxxx in QM only" when doing a 321. I was able to uncheck post to stock and save in the MM, but that does not allow me to release it still. I cannot use QA32, QA11 or QE51N. I have asked the user to reverse the GR but since it was completed in a previous month there is no guarantee that the system will allow  a reversal.

Any ideas?

Greetings,

I have tried to replicate your scenario by doing a 561 movement to Q stock.

No inspection lot was created for this material since I did not activate the appropraite inspection type (in this example 05).

The question here is how was you colleague able to indicate that material should be posted to Q stock if no inspection type is active ("selected 'Post to stock' in the material master without identifying the inspection type") since this indicator is defined at inspection type level. Alternatevly you can select stock type while posting.

With movement type 321 you should be able to transfer quantities from Q stock to unrestricted  (or any other stock).

Post to inspection stock was triggered by a mass change. We ended up reversing the GR updating the master data and completing the GR again
