Hello,
I have a requirement i wanted to ship my QM Quality Inspection stock to another plant/SLoc or WM/EWM. Is there any standard functionality available in SAP or need to use any BADi etc..Kindly suggest.
Thanks in advance..!!

Request clarification before answering.
No. you can't actually ship Qi stock.
- You can move the inspection lot using QAC2 but that does nothing to in the shipping area. No shipping papers, no BOL's, no sale or transfer, no proper date of arrival or availability for planning.
- You can simply post to unrestricted stock and ship while awaiting to complete the testing and release. That would all be at risk.
- If your material is batch managed you can create the stock in restricted batch status. Then do not post the stock to QI stock. Batches with restricted batch status can be shipped with a stock transport order but cannot be assigned to a sales order. When you make the UD, set up the UD codes to change the batch status to unrestricted.

Hi Craig
Actually, with the SPM feature described in the link I previously mentioned, you can actually ship from QI stock. A new field called Source Stock Type will appear in the stock transfer and you can choose the quality inspection stock (see the screenshot).
In my opinion, however, there are some functional gaps in this solution and you might still need some custom development behind it.

caetano.almeida Thanks for that update! I haven't looked into that and wasn't aware of it. It's why I spend time on this forum, to learn new things. I do have so philosophical and business reasons around not liking that!!! But other options are good. I'll look into it it. Is it only available for certain releases? Hanna?
Hi Craig,
Today, I raised similar kind of question. We are in S4 HANA, so can't use QAC2 with EWM to move quality stock.Even, can't post to unrestricted otherwise system will create another IL for same order which is not accepted. Due to some other complication, batch status isn't activated in our system. So still looking for work around for this issue.

Hi Craig
It is an SPP feature, so it is also available in ECC. However, I'm not sure it you won't need to activate any business function or switch in ECC. The feature itself has some limitations and I don't consider a complete solution for this scenario, but with some small enhancements you can create a process to move stock under quality inspection to another plant that works.

Hi Caetano Almeida,
To check this I have activated the checkbox under source stock determination under SPM, but I couldn't able to see the new filed Src StockType in PO. Any prerequisites?

I would second Craig here
If you allow posting from QI, you are significantly increasing the risk for your customer as this setting would then enable to PGI QI stock which was supposed to be QC tested. This can lead to significant client costs in the form or recalls and complaints.
Please make use of the Batch status to post stock to Restricted and make it unusable for any other process, but yet can be PGIed in a STO
Hello
The following thread proposes a solution that I have already tried and that works (even though there might be some functional gaps):

Another option is to avoid using quality inspection stock and keep the batches with restricted status until the UD.

Hello Pulla Rao
You can try with transaction QAC2 to move inspection lot qty from one plant to another plant.
