How can I change the name of BP

Dear Community, 

I cannot change the name of a business partner (supplier and employee). Where do I have to adjust the settings to make this possible?

• Has the business partner been created from a tool such as Workforce Person Replication?
• Do you really want different information between employee and business partner?
• Have you tried the 'Manage Business Partner' application, the 'Maintain Business Partner' application or the 'Manage Workforce' application?

Depending on your answer try something such as

1. Log in to SAP Fiori launchpad in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system as a Configuration Expert - Business Process Configuration (SAP_BR_BPC_EXPERT).
2. Open the Manage Your Solution app.
3. On the Configure Your Solution screen, filter the list using these values:

• Application Area: Human Resources
• Subapplication Area: Organization
• Item Name: Value Mappings

In SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, changing the name of a Business Partner (BP) depends on your configuration and permissions. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Using the "Manage Business Partner Master Data" App

a) Open the Fiori Launchpad and search for the app:

"Manage Business Partner Master Data" (App ID: F3163)

b) Search for the Business Partner you want to modify.

c) Click on the Business Partner to enter edit mode.

d) In the General Data section, update the Name field.

e) Save your changes.

2. Using the "Manage Supplier Master Data" or "Manage Customer Master Data" App

If the BP is a supplier, use "Manage Supplier Master Data" (App ID: F1053).

If the BP is a customer, use "Manage Customer Master Data" (App ID: F3165).

3. Using the API or Mass Change Functionality

If you need to change multiple Business Partners at once, you can use the Mass Changes to Business Partners App (F1626).

Alternatively, use the SAP Business Partner OData API (API_BUSINESS_PARTNER) to update the name programmatically.

4. Restrictions & Considerations

You must have the right authorization (SAP_BR_BUPA_MASTER_SPECIALIST or similar).

Some fields may be restricted if the BP is linked to transactions (e.g., invoices, contracts).
