Hi there, I have the following case with Material Substitution determination and BOM ERLA structures.
My client uses Material Determination Determ.Type A001 Material Entered in transaction VB13 with Substitution reason 0006 ProdSel - Order only. This substitution works as there is a new material that comes into use with a new number, this new material can be substituted with the old material and vice versa depending on availability. The system looks if there is stock of the old one even if you have entered the new one, and if there is stock from the old number the system substitutes it in the sales order by adding a new line item with the old material number. Therefore there is one line item with the entered new material and one line item pops up with the new old material if stock still exists. This is fine form the materials with Item Category Group NORM. However, they also have BOM materials with ERLA Structure where the header material with Item Category Group ERLA is the stock material and it has some service items as components. When the ERLA BOM Materials are entered the material substitution does not work as described above, even though they are defined i the same way in for Material Determination type A001 Material Entered in transaction VB13 with Substitution reason 0006 ProdSel - Order only. The clients expectation is that the BOM Header Material will be substituted with the old BOM Header Material based on availability. I am curious if this is just a standard limitation of using the BOM structures. Can anyone help?
