Hi , I have added characteristic values in CT04 in DEV , but when transported to quality, i dont see them. So i understand that i need to add it manually. For this CT04 is non-editable. What is the other option add one more PGrp to my characteristic values.

The values in CT04 typically follows specific system restrictions since many tasks are handled differently compared to on-premise systems.

  • Characteristic values entered in CT04 in DEV were not transported to the quality system.
  • In the quality system, CT04 is non-editable, meaning you cannot add the values directly. This behavior is expected in systems where the configuration is locked to ensure consistency between DEV and QAS.
  • When you navigate to CT04 in the quality system, click the Change button on the right side. Depending on your system setup, you may see one of the following:
    • A message like "Client is not modifiable": Indicates that the quality system is locked for direct configuration changes.
    • Authorization Errors: If you do not have appropriate roles or permissions to modify CT04 entries.
    • No response or greyed-out fields: Signifying that the system restricts this action entirely.

Options to Add PGrp (Purchasing Group) to Characteristic Values:

Option 1: Adjust DEV and Re-Transport

  • Go back to DEV and add the new Purchasing Group (PGrp) to the characteristic values in CT04.
  • Verify that the characteristic changes are included in a transport request and re-transport them to quality.
  • Ensure that the transport includes all relevant dependency objects if applicable.

Option 2: Use Manual Workarounds

  • If transport is not possible or you need an immediate solution, request the system administrator or key user to unlock the quality client temporarily for configuration changes.
  • Once unlocked, you can manually add the PGrp values to CT04 in the quality system.

Option 3: Leverage Master Data Management Tools

  • Use a master data maintenance transaction like CL24N (Assign Object to Class) if applicable.
  • Depending on your setup, tools like MDG (Master Data Governance) can sometimes support data replication or enrichment for characteristics across environments.

Thank you for your response. I got CT04 access to edit in quality and production and updated the same.
